KOINKOIN BRAND IDENTITY REVAMP

Situation:
Koinkoin is a digital assets exchange platform operating in Nigeria’s dynamic fintech space. With Binance withdrawing from the local market, Koinkoin saw a unique opportunity to scale its influence and become a dominant player. The company serves a digitally savvy audience of individuals aged 15–55, particularly students and young professionals with an interest in trading, investing, and building wealth. The brand’s identity needed to reflect its bold, fun, and reliable nature, while positioning itself as a trustworthy platform rooted in integrity.

Task:
The challenge was to evolve Koinkoin’s existing logo into something more modern and memorable, retaining its core visual recognition while elevating its sophistication and appeal. The brand needed a refreshed identity that would resonate with its core users, compete with rivals like Busha and Quidax, and take inspiration from globally iconic yet simple logos like those of Google, Amazon, and Mercedes.

Action:
To craft a meaningful and visually compelling update, we took a multi-stage approach:
• Initiated the project with a detailed discovery phase and briefing session to understand Koinkoin’s vision, goals, and competitive positioning.
• Audited local and global competitors to benchmark design trends and user engagement strategies.
• Redesigned the logo with a bold, modern aesthetic, introducing cleaner lines, updated fonts, and stronger graphic elements.
• Conducted a perception survey among Koinkoin’s brand ambassadors to gather insights on how the existing logo was perceived and what values they felt the brand should visually express.
• Tested the initial drafts of the new logo with the same ambassadors, measuring emotional impact, brand fit, and memorability.
• Introduced the final logo concept: “The Koin Flip.”

The ‘O’ in KOINKOIN subtly mimics the edge of a coin, with a portion “flipped” to reveal a golden underside, a nod to the financial term “flipping,” where users trade for profit. This golden flip symbolizes opportunity and value transformation, perfectly representing Koinkoin’s mission: to help users maximize the worth of their digital assets. Whether tokens, NFTs, or currency pairs, every flip on Koinkoin embodies a step toward greater value. The visual metaphor is subtle yet powerful, communicating action, growth, and trust through one clean, intuitive symbol.

Result:
In just under one month, Koinkoin emerged with a revitalized brand identity anchored by a logo that balances sophistication with approachability. Ambassador feedback confirmed that the new design felt modern, meaningful, and reflective of Koinkoin’s purpose.

The final logo, with its clever “Koin Flip” concept, now stands as a memorable emblem of trust, transformation, and opportunity, positioning Koinkoin as the bold new face of digital finance in Nigeria.
